The Norman Berman Children’s Library has been selected as a host Library for the first ever Blue Metropolis Children’s Festival
Monday, April 30th – Tuesday, May 1st, 2008.
On Wednesday, April 30th at 10AM, Montreal author Joyce Scharf presents her bewitching story “Grace and the Ice Prince”, in which a mysterious diamond initiates a girl’s journey to self-discovery. Desperate to have a change from her winter routine, Grace discovers a magical ice kingdom where time has literally frozen. The talk is geared to students 10 to 12 years of age.
On Thursday, May 1st at 10AM, Alan Silberberg will use his cartoon doodles to help illustrate the creative process. He will guide the children on a writing adventure with interactive exercises and some story-building secrets that helped him write his own book, “Pond Scum”. The only requirements are a sense of humour and a willingness to have fun! This session is for 8 to 12 year old children.
