computerized library services, materials and programmes are available

The Jewish Public Library is a not-for-profit institution
that relies on the support of individuals, corporations, community

You can support the Library by:
Making a Donation
So many good causes… and so many found right
here at the Jewish Public Library! We have been a community treasure
for over 90 years because of the dedication and generosity of
our members and the community at large.
A donation to the Library ensures that we can meet
the ever changing needs of the community; nurture and defend Jewish
culture, literature and tradition; provide programmes for our
children; ensure that the elderly continue to get specialized
services in a language they feel comfortable in.
There are many ways you can donate: a straight donation,
book donations (Birthday books, Adopt-a-Book, donate a shelf etc.);
leave a legacy for future generations; contribute to our Endowment
Fund; give the gift of membership; and many other options. To
discuss how your generosity can best serve your community, contact
us at (514) 345-2627 ext. 3332 or 3042.

Supporting a Project
The Jewish Public Library is a recognized world-class
centre of Judaica and non-Judaica collections. In a time of shrinking
resources and increasing demand, funds are needed to maintain
the standards of excellence associated with the Library.
Memberships meet immediate needs, but to ensure
the continuity, maintenance and growth of the Library, additional
support is required. Take the time to find out the many creative,
exciting and innovative ways you can help.
Name a collection after a loved one. Give a birthday
book with a personalized nameplate to a grandchild. Start a fund
to support our Books on Wheels programme, which caters to people
who cannot leave their homes. Make an endowment, dedicate a plaque
or leave a bequest.
Giving options are limited only by your imagination,
creativity and generosity!

Donating Books
What better way to mark a birthday, graduation,
anniversary or birth than donating a book? A small donation will
have a book purchased in your name or in the name of your loved
one. You will not only be supporting literacy, but helping to
ensure that the Jewish Public Library and the Norman Berman Children's
Library and their rich collections will be here for many generations
to come.
As a donor, you will receive a tax receipt for the
full amount of your gift. The recipient will receive a personalized
certificate notifying him or her that a gift has been made in
their name.

Legacy Project
The Jewish Public Library holds paramount its obligation
to transmit Jewish values, knowledge and cultural heritage through
a multilingual range of services that meet the cultural, educational
and recreational needs of the community.
The Legacy Project enables us to invest today in
our long-term security. Legacy Project funds will be realized
through deferred gifts that become available after your lifetime.
At that time, an endowment fund is established in your name. Deferred
giving can take the form of a bequest, a life insurance policy
or a variety of many other options. The professionals at the Jewish
Community Foundation are available to meet with you and your advisors
to assist you in fulfilling your vision for your family and community.
