Reproduction Permissions, Fees, and Citation Guide
Requesting use permission
Permission must be granted by the Archives for a user to reproduce our materials in any format. The use of materials is also bound by an obligation to credit the source and pay a nominal fee that helps sustain the department.
Services and Fees
Standard resolution
Standard resolution (300 dpi in JPEG) and maximum original size of 8.5″ x 11″
$15.00 per scan
High resolution
High resolution (600 dpi and above in JPEG) and maximum original size of 8.5″ x 11″
$25.00 per scan
Bound materials, artefacts
Oversized scanning (larger than 8.5″ x 11″)
Rates are determined on a case-by-case basis and include a base fee of $35 for staff time. Contact [email protected] for pricing options.

$0.10 per scan
Free for the first 30 minutes, then $35/hr.
Citing Archival Records
If you use, publish, or distribute archival material from the Jewish Public Library Archives, you must include the appropriate information using credit lines and citations.

Credit lines should read:
Courtesy of [fonds or collection name], Jewish Public Library Archives, Montreal.
Ex: Courtesy of the Allan Raymond Collection, Jewish Public Library Archives, Montreal.
Citations should include:
Record’s full title
Repository
Name of Fonds or Collection
Identifier (including fonds, series, file, and item numbers where applicable)
